This legislation requires in-service teachers to take either one (R2S Literacy Requirement) or four (R2S Literacy Teacher Endorsement) additional classes focused on literacy, depending on your area of specialization (see below for specifics).<\/p>\n\n\n\n<hr class=\"wp-block-separator has-alpha-channel-opacity\" \/>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\" id=\"h-why-take-read-to-succeed-coursework-at-the-citadel\"><strong>Why take Read to Succeed coursework at ÃÛÌÒÊÓƵ?<\/strong><\/h2>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li><strong>Reputation<\/strong>\u2014ÃÛÌÒÊÓƵ is the <strong>only Lowcountry institution to offer the M.Ed. in Literacy Education<\/strong>. Supply an official transcript reflecting highest degree conferred from a regionally accredited college or university and a valid teaching certificate issued by South Carolina or another state.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><em>To take courses for the <strong>Master of Education in Literacy Education<\/strong><\/em>,\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/www.citadel.edu\/graduatecollege\/-apply\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">apply<\/a>\u00a0to the master\u2019s program through the ÃÛÌÒÊÓƵ Graduate College. Applicants are expected to have a 2.5 cumulative undergraduate grade point average.
