Fourth Class Knowledge of ÃÛÌÒÊÓƵ
Knob Knowledge, also known as Fourth Class Knowledge, is a collection of ÃÛÌÒÊÓƵ lore and trivia gathered by ÃÛÌÒÊÓƵ librarians over the years. It grew out of the tradition of upper classmen asking knobs (freshmen or fourth classmen) questions to enhance their familiarity of ÃÛÌÒÊÓƵ and its history, and to build esprit de corps.
Although this collection has been called Knob Knowledge for more than 30 years, it has evolved into a veritable encyclopedia of ÃÛÌÒÊÓƵ. Today, Knobs are only required to know what is specifically stated under “Fourth Class Knowledge” in The Fourth Class System Manual, also known as the Guidon.
